INFORMATION ABOUT OUR USE OF COOKIES

We use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences, when you visit our website. This may include a simple pop-up or a link to various services we provide, such as forums, service pages, landing pages, etc.
Our websites (www.mercantel.pt) are operated by Mercantel. The websites use cookies to distinguish you from other users, which helps us to provide a good experience when you browse our pages and also helps us to implement improvements.
Cookies help us to offer a better customer experience when you browse our websites and also help us to improve and personalise the websites for you. For example, we track the domains from which people visit and also measure visitor activity on the websites. We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to different areas of our websites to improve their performance and ensure that we can process and meet your needs.
In addition, we also use third-party advertising on our website to cover maintenance costs. Some of these advertisers may use technologies such as cookies and/or web beacons when advertising on our website, which means that these advertisers (such as Google via Google AdSense) will also receive your personal information, such as your IP address, your ISP, your browser, etc. This feature is generally used for geotargeting (showing advertising for Aveiro only to readers based in Aveiro, for example) or to display advertising targeted at a specific type of user (such as showing restaurant advertising to a user who regularly visits cooking websites, for example).
You can remove the cookies placed on your device by our websites or prevent our websites from placing further cookies on your device at any time. Find out how to do this below, in the cookie management section. This may affect or prevent you from logging in to programmes, websites or forums on our network and others.
By visiting our website with your browser settings set to allow cookies or by using our app, you consent to the use of non-essential cookies and acknowledge the use of essential cookies for the purposes described below, in order to provide you with a fully functional and tailored browsing experience.

What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded and stored on your computer or mobile device by the websites you visit. It retains only information relating to your preferences and does not, therefore, include your personal data.
Your browser accesses the cookie file only when you visit the website that generated it. This helps to make your browsing easier by automatically logging you in and remembering information such as your preferences or what is in your shopping basket. Cookies allow websites like ours to provide a more personalised experience tailored to your preferences.
The information stored in any cookie can only be accessed by the website that created it, and cookies are limited to communicating only the information you have disclosed to the website.

Managing cookies:
You can configure your browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when websites attempt to set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the website may become inaccessible or may not function correctly.
If cookies are not enabled on your computer, your experience on this website will be limited to browsing and searching only. To enable and manage cookies, use your browser. Check the ‘Help’ menu of your specific browser (or on your mobile phone) to find out how to change your cookie preferences.
